Do I have to use the same energy audit company for the pre- and post-retrofit audit? What happens if the company that performs my first (pre-retrofit) energy assessment ceases to deliver the service?

A . In most cases, the same audit company performs both home audits. The audit company that performs your first assessment submits your electronic file to Natural Resources Canada within 30 days from the date of service. If during the 18-month period after you have received this service, the organization ceases operation, you could then call another audit company, and provide the company with your file number, your name and address as it appeared on the previous report along with your phone number. Natural Resources Canada will then supply this company with your electronic file so that you can schedule your post-retrofit audit.
