If I wanted to sell my home after I have completed all of the actions recommended by the auditor, could I get a certificate from the government saying that my home is energy efficient and that this work has been undertaken?

A : While potential homebuyers may be interested in the total annual energy costs of your home, the extent to which your home may be more efficient is determined by the actions that you undertake as part of your retrofit. The information provided in the post-retrofit audit, including the EnerGuide rating, could be used as part of an information package about your house if you choose to include it.

To qualify for the Home Energy Retrofit Program, the post-retrofit verification audit must be completed after June 20, 2007.
